REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS

APPLICATION

Applications are not complete until payment has been successfully received. Applications must be received before March 17, 6pm. Twenty applicants in each category will receive an audition acceptance letter and move to the next round (video). Those musicians will receive specific instructions for making the video. DO NOT MAKE YOUR VIDEO UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED THOSE INSTRUCTIONS!

CREATE VIDEO (this is a brief overview of the instructions)

After receiving your acceptance letter, prepare a 5 minute (max.) video of your audition music.

Include 2 contrasting selections (or portions thereof).

Submit video audition prior to date and time required (Vocals before 6pm on April 3; Instrumentals before 6pm on April 11).

JUDGING

You will be judged on Accuracy, Rhythm, Technique, Interpretation and Musicianship. Please consider the total effect of your performance including lighting, sound/volume and stage presence.

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS

Submit your essay any time before 6:00pm April 11th to Judith Weaver: weavmusic@aol.com. Indicate where you hope to study.

ACCOMPANIST-OPTIONAL

Due to the pandemic and the change to a virtual format, accompanists are not required. Should you prefer a piano collaborator, submit your email below to find a local accompanist.

DRESS APPROPRIATELY

Show respect for the judges and volunteers who make this day possible.

VIDEO LOCATION/BACKGROUND

Be aware of the picture you present including the background of your video.

AWARD REQUIREMENT

Winners are required to play at either the 6:30 or 8:00pm GTM program on June 8, 2023, and give permission to allow their names and photos posted on the GT Musicale website..

IMPLICIT AGREEMENT

Implicit in this agreement is your permission for us to use your audition video, photo or screen shot on our website or within a larger video presentation.
