GT MUSICALE SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Grand Traverse Musicale offers scholarships in five performance categories. Solo repertoire only for Strings, Winds, Percussion, Keyboard, and Voice. Scholarships will be awarded to students grades 7 - 12.
Only one of the pieces may be the applicant’s own composition. Students may be home-schooled or enrolled in private or public school anywhere in the five county area (Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie, Antrim, Kalkaska). High school seniors planning to either major or minor in music in college may also apply (see special instructions below). Vocalists must be thirteen years of age by March 1, 2026. Vocalists may submit one classical piece and one musical theater piece (no belting) or two classical pieces.
Only one application may be accepted per student. Two different instruments may be played as long as they are within the same genre (e.g. piano and organ). Applications will be available on this site on January 15, 2026.
Please use an accompanist if your music has accompaniment.
The deadline for all three portions of the 2026 Scholarship Audition Application process is 6pm on March 1, 2026. No exceptions.
Submit at the same time:

3. $15 fee
We will not process any application without all three items.

Award Requirement:
Winners are required to perform at either the 6:30pm or 8:00pm GT Musicale programs on June 11, 2026, and at one of our afternoon meetings (September through December of 2026 or May of 2027) at 2:00pm High School seniors are only required to perform on the June Awards Concert.
Implicit Agreement:
This agreement is your permission for us to use your audition video, photo or screen shot on our website or within a larger video presentation.

COLLEGE AWARDS
Grand Traverse Musicale is proud to offer generous scholarships for graduating seniors.
To qualify, you must be a graduating senior with plans to attend a college or university with a major or minor in Music. You will only be required to perform at our June concert.
Please use the same application form and requirements, and adhere to all deadlines.
In addition to the application form, video audition, and $15 fee, you are also asked to submit a short essay - 300 words - describing the impact of music on your life and your plans for future music education. Submit your essay to Ms. Judith Weaver at weavmusic@aol.com by March 1, 2026.
Audition videos, along with the essay, must be submitted by the deadline, March 1, 2026, 6pm.
