Video Instructions

Your video must be a YouTube unlisted public video. All videos submitted are to be UNLOCKED or PUBLIC. We will not do that for you. Prepare a video of your audition music of 5 minutes maximum. Clearly state your name and the composer and title of the piece(s) you are presenting on your audition video. You will be judged on musicality, talent, and technical display.  The audition video is to be no longer than 5 minutes. Longer videos will be disqualified.

Performances must include two contrasting selections, or portions thereof. You may perform two contrasting pieces in style or tempo, one piece with contrasting sections (such as an aria in ABA form), or two movements of a sonata. Only one of the two selections may be the student’s own composition. Choose from SOLO repertoire only. Vocalists may submit one classical piece and one musical theater selection (no belting) or two classical pieces.

Please consider the total effect of your performance including lighting, sound/volume and stage presence. Be aware of the picture you present including the background of your audition video.

Dresses should be knee length or longer. No shorts, no jeans, no spaghetti straps.

Videos must be attached to the Scholarship Application page. Use the below button to quickly jump to the Application Form. You may also copy and paste the URL for your video to the last line of the Application page. 

NOTE: the Scholarship Application page is not available until after January 15, 2025.

3. Tap the plus sign
4. Tap “upload video”
5. Select the video you want (if it doesn’t appear, restart your phone). You also have the option to edit now.
6. Tap “done”.
7. Tap “next”
8. Tap “title”
9. Under Visibility tap “public”
10. tap “unlisted”
11. Tap “<”
12. Tap “not made for kids”
13. Tap “upload”

1. Open YouTube App
2. Tap “Library” (bottom right)
3. Tap “your video”
4. Tap 3 dots next to your video
5. Tap “share”
6. Scroll to Copy
7. Tap “copy”
8. Go to browser
9. Go to gtmusicale.org
10. Go to Scholarship drop-down menu
11. Go to Scholarship Application form
12. On the bottom left corner of the application form, tap to send link
13. Tap ”paste”
